I have a 97 40th anniversary edtion and have a question about the door mouldings. I have the Toyota EPC parts program and when I look up replacments there are part numbers specific for the 40th only for the front doors but on the rear doors and rear panels there is only one part number without any note that they are for a 40th. So will I only get the correct moulding for the front doors?
--Now either way I want to delete the red marker lights on the rear panels, I know the Japan/Ausi 80's mouldings are not cut out for the lights. Is there anyway I can get those mouldlings? I know they are different from the US 40th anniversary and say 4wheel drive on the front doors but I think having those would look better and work to delete the marker lights. Any ideas Mot or C-dan??

bjowett, does your 93 have the gray mouldings?

If it does, they were added after the fact.

There are two different shades of grey, 91-94 and 95-up.

he only vehicles imported into the US that had them factory installed were the 40th and the collector. They have been available out of the parts catalog the entire time.

The front door mouldings on the 40th and Collector are plain, the other part number says "FOUR WHEEL DRIVE" in the center section. The remaining 95-up mouldings are all the same regardless.

In the case of the 91-94 mouldings there is not a "plain" one for the front doors just the "Four WHEEL DRIVE" version.

The mouldings are the same shape and fitment between the early and late versions, the difference being the shade of grey only.

In order to get quarter mouldings without the cutouts you would need to source JDM mouldings. Be careful to specify "VX" as opposed ot "VX LIMITED" as the mouldings are different.

In addition, you will need to seal off the area where the lamp now sits as the moulding would not provide a weather-tight seal around the hole.
