I have the R2.8 installed in my '64 FJ40 and looking at installing a power brake system. but, most that I consider are too big to fit comfortably. What did you use and maybe a picture?

@wngrog has many documented builds here on the forum that do not use a booster and have solid brakes. FZJ80 master directly to the pedal, Factory discs in front, and TSM disc brakes in back. Just an option if you are open to hitting the easy button and forgetting about a booster.

I think PRLC used a FJ80 master on mine. Might've been the FZJ. I can't remember

I'd run a booster. Which might mean notching the rib on the firewall.

If you don't run the booster, I kinda wanna say the vacuum pump is driven off the cam, but I don't remember for certain. Either way I'd look into a logical way to delete that. I don't think it serves any purpose outside of brake vacuum and none of your hvac stuff in a 40 is vacuum actuated.

I will install a Toyota double diaphragm booster and a FJ80 master cylinder and 4 wheel disc brakes.
