There are nato/mil spec equivalents if you can find them like PX-29, PX 32, 33 etc. The px series is corrosion prevention products of all different kinds

The way I see it is the hardest area to reach would be the under tub supports. Eastwoods and POR-15 have prep products such as marine clean and metal ready to prep rusty metal prior to rust treatment. How long was the truck under water and how long did it sit in the open air prior to the work you are doing on it now? Oil and water don't mix very well, so if the truck was a decent runner prior to the flood perhaps the cylinder walls did not suffer too much damage. Prior to turning the engine over I would ensure that your valves are not STUCK, if they are you will bend the push rods. You may want to go ahead and order ALL NEW Gaskets, since more then likely you will be removing pans, inspection plates etc. to check the internals of the engine. I can't wait to hear that you got this truck running and having a blast with it, may be a vanity plate that says SALTY would be in order.

To answer an earlier question, the 40 was submerged for 18 hours maybe? and has been in the open air with nothing done to it since Septemeber except for what I have done in the last week.

Frankly, the fact that it is not just falling apart is a testament to the quality of the materials used in the initial construction.

I have not had to fight a single bolt and only broke one and that was on the radiator shroud and looked as if it probably was quite corroded prior to the Hurricane.

consider yourself lucky. i broke all but 2 body mount bolts. broke about 3 or 4 bolts today when i picked up my hard top and amby doors from a guy on here. broke a few bolts when pulling my axles off. i have been breaking bolts left and right.

have you watched the 3 or 4 episodes on that yota. i watched em a while back and that thing is a beast! the last test was rediculous, not gonna ruin the ending tho.

Go for it.

Me and my buddies took the heads off a seized 440 back in the '70s and beat on the pistons with a sledge against an aptly sized piece of firewood to unstuck it. Worked like a charm for years after.

2fs are tough. Get it turning and then fire it up. Lowenbrau has the right medicine for salt water immersion. Rinse thoroughly. Then rinse again.

Its to bad you could not of gotten it running sooner. Months of sitting with saltwater on stuff aint a good recipe.
