Hey, not sure if there are already CAD drawings out there for the 40/45 series land cruisers but if there are I would sure like to know about them.

If not, I would like to start modeling up some Landcruiser stuff. First off, the body tub!

I'm thinking that I can do a full 3D sheet metal model of the body tub which can then be flattened out, printed to scale and then used as templates for tub rebuilds.

If there are any of you who would be willing to help me out with dimensions and design ideas, that would be awesome.

I'll start off with the back of the tub and if that goes well I'll do the firewall next.

You have lots of time to spare?

Which software will you use. I have some parts done but mainly parts i've fabricated / added to the truck.

:D I have some time. I'm a contractor for an engineering company so I make my own hours.

I have Catia and Pro/Engineer but i will probably use Catia. You have any pics? Can i see what you've fab'd so far?

Cheers,
Mike

Not much, search my nic and inventor maybe you'll find something. I beleive i've posted up my skid plate. Maybe other image.

I've started to do the frame of the truck but i didn't do much, i would need to have a naked from to do something usefull, i mean that could easily be cut out of plate, formed and assembled.

I use inventor.

I'm definitely interested. This comes up every once in a while. Last year someone wanted to do a full scan (CMM or laser) on a Land Cruiser. Not sure where that ended up. I've seen a 40 in CAD somewhere but it wasn't really to scale, unfortunately. Please post any files that you find or make. I'd be very interested, mostly for the novelty factor. I use Unigraphics every day, but also have CATIA V5 and conversion software on my computer.

I have a Fj45 cab, including the chassis in 3D Very close the real thing surface wise. (haven't done the window, roof and doors, however have these in 2D)

Hi guys, any luck with any cad drawings, would be very interested as my tub fell to pieces whilst dismantling. i have no experience with metal work (or CAD) but a metal fabrication shop would build me one if i could get dimensions of a 3/4 tub

location Ireland

hi, sorry for the old thread revival, but i searched and found so :hillbilly:

any one have any AutoCAD (.DWG) files for specifically 45 series?

my job is to work with CAD and i have time to spare, so am wanting to "build" a complete 45 in CAD so that i can test what i want to put on before i even touch any steel.
