Hey guys,

Is there anywhere in the US that I can get a complete front caliper rebuild kit with the cylinder/pistons? Essentially this but not down under.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Truck is a 1976

Thanks, Joe

Maybe cheaper to get refurbished Toyota calipers from NaPA

Wouldn’t you like a nice pair of rebuilt, ready to install, freshly zinc plated oem brake calipers? I’ll use my neighborhood dealer as an example. I order online at parts.stevinsontoyota.com just insert your favorite Toyota dealers name instead of Stevinson to get their online price which is better than the walk-in price. The part numbers are 47730-60021-84 and 47750-60021-84 order them, when they come in they will email you, take your old ones (cores) with when you go to pick them up ( no shipping charge then) 54.20 each and 60.00 each core charge. Painless.

I didn't realize that I could still get toyota replacements. Thank you for the input!

Joe

FWIW, while on the the other end of the budget spectrum, our OE brand new loaded calipers feature all OE Toyota manufacture parts. So not only can you rebuild your calipers, or buy rebuilds from Toyota, we offer these brand new (so no core shipping/swapping) caliper pairs with pads and hardware for $495/pair. These have been quite popular with some of our shop customers that specialize in restorations.

Are these calipers bare or do they come semi loaded with the guide pins and what not?

Thanks! We were excited to have it as an option. We still stock the rebuild kits and reman calipers too but with core shipping, your local dealer is the best option on those.

For what its worth, I just bought your knuckle rebuild kit which led me to discover how awful the brake situation was. I guess the newer cruisers were given too much attention while this was hiding in the back.

Right on, thanks! Get the grease out from under your fingernails yet? :D

I got mine from a USA Napa when I was just over the border. Our Toyota dealer is a rip-off and unless I can provide the VIN for the truck they came off they won’t sell me callipers for 2-300 a piece. :D

Buying parts from Toyota on a modified truck is a challenge when I need a VIN to buy even a wiper blade.
