Can't tell from the FSM exactly what it reads, but it looks like it's pointed more to the hub that CV. Not sure why they'd say it wouldn't work.

"ABS 100 Series IFS Models
If your vehicle has IFS (Independent Front Suspension) and is fitted with ABS brakes the kit can be fitted without effecting the ABS system. The reason for this is because the ABS speed sensor is reading off the wheel hub."
from mark4wd web page

So if you completed this conversion you would only be able to lock the Diffs together which is only recommended for Off-Road conditions correct?

It could be argued that less spinning parts could increase longevity.

ABS won't work becuase the CV's aren't spinning and the magnetic sensors rely on that.

You should edit the ABS comment in your post. It's wrong. As you surmised from the fsm diagram the sensors are hub based. ABS will function normally.

Regarding other comments on VSC... This function uses the ABS system in conjunction with engine output control. It will not be affected by the conversion. It mitigates wheel slip by reducing engine torque under acceleration. ABS is actually the primary system VSC relies on.

Was thinking I read somewhere that it can also add power under certain conditions to help rotate the vehicle. If that's the case and it's trying to add power to the front (which are disconnected) then it could produce some undesirable results.

Get it from CDan, Mud discount.

I will most likely take it to Slee. Even though the Slee website doesn't show aftermarket 4.10 gears, Christo told me they have them for around $300.

No reason to take it anywhere else. You'll be glad you did.

Mission Complete...
About an hour of work start to finish. Artwerks had spacers on the front, so we had to remove the wheel and spacers to access the drive flange bolts/nuts/washers.

Thanks guys!

Very cool...nice to have such a helpful group....good luck with your ARB upgrade....or check out the new TJM locker...they look interesting.

Another tech item to add...... When I packed up tools and gear to head up, I made 2 quart sized ziplock bags marked "driver" and "passenger" and threw them in my box. It was nice to have a clean, well marked bag for the dustcap, flange, nuts, c-clip and washers for each side. Its something I'll add to my carry kit. Although, when I dropped the flange into the bag, the bottom ripped out and everything fell in the dirt anyway. Don't buy cheap ziplocks, get the heavy duty ones.

I started doing this after I got home when I stripped my ring gear.

Some enterprising business person should take all those parts + tools, put them in a nice durable bag, add printed out instructions with pictures on how to do this, and then sell them here for lazy people like me who would appreciate having this :D

I keep some of the heavy duty gallon size freezer bags and a sharpie in the truck. :D
