lets try again...

red line is the panhard (should be under frame tho, program crapped

black = axle

blue = lower links (again, below frame)

green = single upper link

puke green =- frame rails
Take this setup and then make the top link more straight then you have my front suspension.

Works very well.

Ok ok ok, So are the two blue lower links going to be setup like space ghosts old setup before he went to 4-link or are they going to be straight links?

blues would be straight, no Y on them. SG ran a Y on both sides and skipped the green line. you "can" do the Y on just the passenger side too, but IMO, that's too much leverage on the lower link for any safety....

the added weight of your 60 wagon makes bracketry even more important....leverage is a bitch.

Thanks for all who posted...its nice wanting to learn when its not forced...No worries I'll over build the hell out of it...I wont start it til I know more..that and I dont want my truck down for the count during the summer...Cant miss out on any summer wheeling and trips..

You might want to try using periods, commas and spaces to seperate your sentences. Just a thought.

:whoops: Is it just me, or is this bad form to mention your "sick stuff" in your own "help me" thread!

this is the first time of have done this type of suspesion like I said before but other things I have built like a samuria with a rotory that runs 12s in the 1/4 and my tuff truck that I race and my tracker that I am building with a 300 horse conquest turbo motor I dont want to start a pissing contest but who cares about my punctiation I mean come on was it neccisary

what welder are you using..

I am thinking 110V lincoln with flux core..

I don't want to start any unrinating games either, but you are telling me you have built rigs that are raced. Really man I'm not trying to be a jerk but Tech+Those welds=Back on the trailer. You came here asking for peoples help, I probably would make sure I could walkit, before I started talking smack. You are the one who wanted those pics posted.
LG

failing engrish is no big dill

220 lincoln 150amp flux core and when we did it it was a trail peice we werent sure about and I didnt notch far enough so I filled a big gap and planed on plating both sides so it wouldn't matter and I can weld good my stuuff doesnt bust but thats all I want to get this truck done and not argue and I do thank everyone who has helped me

Cool, nothing inherently wrong with flux.

And you need to understand something. You asked for help, and these people are giving you advice. I would listen to what they have to say ;)

LanzG does know his stuff ;)

Sometimes getting it done isnott he best idea. Getting it done right is.
A very hard lesson that I learned..

Oh, but it does matter. Notch the tube correctly to fit and lay in one nice bead. That will make the strongest possible joint.

We're just trying to be helpful.....so you can do it right the first time.

I'm certainly not mad or pissin, but it was a valid comment. Your communication skills make it hard to understand some of the questions you ask. All I want to do is help with what little knowledge I have. I start not caring top help when people are mean. :D

Peace.

I am sorry . I will try better to explain myself.

woody did you get my new pics .

two new ones.....

The basics are right...that upper link bracket will be FAR from strong enough.....you want something .250 thick and that has weld surface the entire width (front to back, 3" or so) of the axle housing...and then some additional side-to-side bracing and making sure the two sides are tied together....

And, personally, I like all the heims to be verticle, but that's just me....lol

Jason, find us a pic of yours....unless you are hiding in a warm junkyard this morning.....you bum....

here are some that I have sitting on my computer.

It'll give you an idea.

the links are NOT done on this piece. All joints are in double shear and the draglink is missing.

well the bracket on the axle is .250 thick and it will be a platform top build from I will make it stronger the frame bracket was just some tabs I had laying around for mockup. how about pinion angle where is a good start point?
