Just done with a 4" Downey Lift with Marks Off Road Shackles and 33x12.5x15 BFG Muds. Done lots of searching on this subject and I'm leaning towards 5100's in the back and 5150's up front. My concerns and questions are:

1. 5150 too stiff?
2. Major difference between 5100 vs 5125?

The rig will be seeing the road for now but is being built to see the trails eventually. Thanks!

5100 are for specific OEM applications-ie look up Chevy 2500 get a shock

5125s are the same as 5100s, you just find one on the list with the length and valving you want.

5150s have a side reservoir and have a bad reputation for leaking.

7100s are rebuildable and can have custom valving--also $$$

Post pics of your new lift please!

I have the same springs in the garage, but I need to get my 40 running first.

I just installed 5125s all the way around on my rig w/ 4" Hell Creek lift and 2.5" extended shackles. I think I have 5" of compression and 7" of extension after install. I bought mine from Eshock.com. Great service and free shipping. I first ordered w/ shockwarehouse but they had backordered the shocks I needed and didn't let me know. So canceled my order and bought from eshock and they were very helpful and really fast at shipping.

2 jeep friends have the 5150s. All leak and four are broken at the upper stud (after a couple months). Be sure to ask Bilstein about their 90 day warranty (it sucks). I used to be a huge Bilstein fan for the last 15 years. They used to be a superior product and had an excellent warranty and service. Now they sell junk and won't stand behind it.
