4.7 V8 in FJ 80

Width? Put it this way. Slee's rear bumper for the 100? His identical 80 bumper fits INSIDE his 100 bumper. It also weighs 60 more pounds.
Length? Long hood to accomodate that V8.

The V8 is shorter than the 6

Skiiing here is great! Need more snow to keep up the powder, though!

LOL, I just talked to a kid this morning at the local checker auto who you may have pulled out with the 80 in Tucson once. Yellow Jeep IIRC.

-H-

Hmmmm, yellow? Yellow? Hmmmm. Don't remember yanking a yellow Jeep. I pulled out a blue one in Sedona. Also pulled out Chad in his white Jeep at Chivo Falls. Pic:

Cost. With over $70K in the 2001, I wanted a lower cost Cruiser I could trash. The '93 is perfect for that. I would prefer a 2nd 100 to trash instead of the 80, though the cost difference was dramatic. I'm glad though I ended up with an 80. It's smaller and it fits where the 100 doesn't, though that's rare. It also has a small edge off road though again, if I wasn't cautious about damaging the 100, it'd make it through too. SIZE DOES MATTER. :)

70k in a 100 series, what did you do gold plate your skid plates?

Ahhh, let's see....here's a quickie and we'll see what it adds up to:

100 ($60,500 with $2900 in sales taxes, $2055 in extended warranty, and $975 AZ one year license plate fee)(Then deduct the cost by $3000 for the way they fudged my trade-in numbers) = $62455

(Install added in where needed)
Bumper, painting, winch, lights = $2800
Lift = $800
Snorkel = $300
Diff drop = $100
ARB lockers F&R = $2500
Sliders = $800
Rear bumper, painting (new springs and shocks) = $2400
Tires = Don't count
What am I forgetting?

Total so far = $72,155 :mad:

I gotta admit Shottz, even with all the s*** I love giving you ...................................

IT TAKES BALLS TO WHEEL A RIG WORTH 70K!

:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Especially when you could do the same thing with $15k. %$#@^

He's not the only original owner to drop a money-bomb on a Cruiser.......:D

Yes Dan,

YOU GOT BALLS TOO..........................

There feel better... :flipoff2:

Don't forget Photoman...........

Ya, well I almost lost them several times out there on the runs. :D

WOW! I guess it has been awhile since I looked at a new 100. The last one I looked at was 48,600 on sale. Yep! On sale. I think it was 6500 off sticker price is what they painted in the window. I can't remember what year that was, but it was after they dropped the locker option, I can remember that. I never ever saw an 80 series on sale. Does yours have the navigation and side curtain air bags or any of the spendy stuff? Why is the lift and bumpers so expensive? I guess I shouldn't ask because when I finally do bite the bullet and buy a 100 it won't really be for wheeling. Family safety, road trip car, etc... Except after reading the info about Christos LX it seems that might be a better way to go for the front lift benefit.

We have an 04 up front with navigation. the window on it is just over $63K

That's CHEAP for a lift. I got a deal back then on the T-bars.

Yep, bumpers (especially rear ones) are REALLY expensive. Then there's $800 for a winch, $300 (?) for the IPF lights, $350 painting.....it adds up!

I think because I have invested SO MUCH money in this truck, and the fact it goes just about anywhere, that I've become this "100 activist" on line. Sure, my 80 can do a few things out there my 100 can't, but those obstacles are RARE even on the 3.5 and 4-rated trails. Some people are amazed when they see the 100 take the non-bypasses. One day there will be so many out there that they won't get dogged any longer. (Remember when the 80's first came out and they were dogged? Deja Vu!)

The 100 series is a very capable vehicles. I saw Amando Mendoza do everything we did in our 80's during CruiseMoab 04. With a little lift and lockers it is a very capable trail rig. I'm thinking about getting a 99 w/rear locker as my next vehicle, of course I'll be keeping the 80:)

Think everyone realizes that. Just too easy to get Shotts started. :D

Shhhhh. Be VERY careful saying that in this forum....."The 100 went everywhere the 80 did"! ;)
I've been SLAMMED many times by "unbelievers" . :flipoff2: :D

Trouble with those unbelievers........they'd trade rigs in a heartbeat! :flipoff2: :D :D :D
(You know who you are) :)
