I hope this is not a repost.
A member on YotaTech who lives in Belize just posted that the 4.5L V8 twin turbo has successfully been transplanted into the engine bay of an FJ Cruiser.

The engine you WISH you had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - YotaTech Forums

It looks like it has two airboxes, not sure.
I am waiting on him for more details.

This pic is of the Land Cruiser, notice only 2 wipers. ;)

What you see in the center of the pic is the intercooler, on the left is the air filter box, on the right is the fuse box lid.

I WANT ONE!....Corey, shoot me a PM when you find out more about this, thanks!

Thats the motor the FJ's SHOULD have in them....:)

I called the owners wife yesterday but their son answered the phone, he said that his father was attack/robbed along with several others, while on some Land Rover tour in Gaut. he still has the FJC diesel, but it apparently is damaged due to the rebels. so he told me it will be a while before his dad is home and i personally did not want to ask the poor guy if i could get a full report on his FJC while he is in the hospital. i''ll report when i know more.

This was back on 3/21/2008.

Think the FJ rear end can handle 650 ft/lbs of torque? ;) I wonder what all was swapped out - assuming everything south of the motor. Hell, even if that was done, with that much torque, he's going get fender bulges just leaving a stop light.

That pic has to be the donor vehicle. 2 wipers, and the windshield is raked back way too much. Those wipers are entirely too long for the short flatish FJC windshield. I would like to see more conclusive pics of it actually being an FJC. It is a killer idea overall.
