What a Storm here. Was out delivering the mail in it. WOW is all i can say.

No power down this way.

Hope everyone is doing OK out there. I know Lowes of Sanford is gone.

Also our Kelly Springfield Tire Factory is tore up bad here in Nam.

hope everyone is okay...we have so far only got strong winds with gusts over 50-60mph....clouding up now heavy.

Glad to hear you're ok Darin! We had high winds and lightning and a heavy rain, there was some damage nearby but nothing bad - downed trees and such.

Glad your all right Darin, hope everyone else has faired well.

Nothing too crazy here but we did lose another 24'' hickory in the back yard.
The perfect drop. Missed the house, the 45 and the garage :D

Power just came on at my house.
The tornado missed our house just to the south and just to our north.

DEL

Dang Del, Forgot completely about you being right there also.

Hope everything is well.

We went and looked at the little bit of destruction around here in Raeford. Mostly abunch of trees down in a good sized row. Seen some metal and stuff in some farmers fields.

Will tell you Nam got destoyed in a few places.

They say 130 some houses are destroyed, another 130 some are badly tore up, and a few schools are bad. One is completely shut down for atleast a year they say.

Jason anyway you might save me a couple sticks of hickory and bring it over to GSMTR. I'm always on the hunt for fresh wood.

All good up in that neighborhood. I actually lived about .5 miles down the road from Del. I've seen the pictures and luckily the girl who bought my FJ62 made it out of the Lowes up in Sanford alive. I still can't believe nobody died in that. She said it really did sound like a freight train comming and smashing thru the entire building.

Her Tahoe that was in the parking lot can't say the same. It didn't flip like some of the cars but was bashed up pretty good.

I've also seen a few pictures of Simons Air Field and it really ripped up the hangers, destroyed a few Aircraft that were even inside and tossed engines and ISU shipping containers around like they weighed nothing.

Damn haven't really been paying attention to this. Glad everyone is ok up there.

will do...heartwood best for cooking/smoking?

Yes!.. Thanks.

Sorry about the hijack. At least some of the storm damaged trees will go into making some damn fine BBQ at GSMTR this year.

On my day off today went out and helped cut some tree's up for people. Went thru about 3 gallons of gas in my saw before i called it a day. Not even an idea of how many of my 10 chains i went thru today, think most of them. Got a good sharpener here though.

Destruction. One word describes it. If you have never seen what a tornado will do then you need to go see in person. I have been to war zones and those take awhile to get like this. There was insulation everywhere today. I have never seen tht much of it.

Did not take pics because i thought it was inappropiate. People there got it bad enough as it is there without some fool taking pics of it.

Holy crap. I can't imagine what it looks like down there.
