Myself and about 8 or so others were camping in Mortimer (east of Linville Gorge) when the storm blew through. Volunteer Fire came by our camp and advised us to leave but after a short chat saw that we would be OK. Two RVs downstream of us were washed away with 9 people inside but all were reported to be rescued OK.

This creek was supposed to be a few inches deep. Some water also backed up from adjacent Wilson Creek.
Linville Falls was raging and had come down quite a bit since the river peaked.
