Has anyone ever put a 3rd row seat in their FJ60? even if it was not a permanat mod, we'd be interested in being able to add one from time to time. If so, what seat did you use and how much space was still available behind it?

Chadi aquired some thrid row seats out of a Lexus LX470 once, worked on it for awhile trying to fabricate a way to install them into my 62... ended up that they were WAY too big, but i still look at options every so often..
I believe the company who made my seat was called Little People Seats in Modesto Califonia. I had it mounted forward and backwards. Seats were good for about a 10 year old due to leg and head room restrictions. They loved it.
Had a mount frame that was held in with captured nuts. I ended up using the frame to hold a new tool box I made for the back but would be happy to sell the seat. Send me a PM and I will send more details and pics.

I have a bench out of a k5(i believe) in mine. Simply had a bracket made to bolt to the floor and the seat is designed to clamp to the rails. There is simply no room what so ever when the seat is in though.

I occasionally pull the mini truck's bench and use it as a third row. Fits nicely in the back. I don't plan on ever bolting it to the floor because it will only fold down and I need my trunk space.
You just need to go to a wreakers and find a narrow bench seat with built in seat belts. Scrap the frame and make a frame that you can solidly bolt to the body, with added steel under neath the body. I'd have it face backwards. As these trucks just weren't meant for it. The HJ61's we got in Canada imported had some 3rd row seating. But these trucks just are not meant for 3rd row comfort and neither is the 80 series.
