Is there an install thread of these headers? I seem to remember that someone posted something, but i can't seem to find it.

Any feedback from the others who have installed?
(I read the dyno thread already)

Just wanting to hear more from the butt dyno crowd...

When I talked to Nick on the phone, he said the shipment will come with a set of gasket, but when the headers arrived last week, it did not come with any. Just to make sure I did not misunderstand him.

is this still going on? still $560 a set?

I didn't get any gaskets either.

I left Nick a voice mail and two emails recently, regarding didn't get any gaskets, I still have not heard anything from him at all, so I had the shop ordered a set for me for abut $60.

I think the old set could be re-usable, but I did not want to take a chance.

If anybody needs a set of the DT gaskets, I am not using mine.

Why aren't you using yours? I would think they'd be pretty good quality.....?

I already bought a set of OEM gaskets along with the studs and bolts before we all found out that DT was including a set with this group buy. Either way, I have an extra set of gaskets:grinpimp:

Nick was away for a bit, thats why he wasn't returning your calls.

I just received my headers. They look good but I didn't receive any gaskets either!

Did I miss the install thread or has nobody made one yet?

Don't know anyone stated a installation thread or not, but I just had a shop installed them for me last week. Alldata said it was a 15hr job (7.5 hr on each side), and I bought all OEM studs and bolts (16 each), which will run you $130 or so at invoice price.

The tech who did the job told me, it was easy to take them off, but to put them on, he had to dismount some engine mounts to install them.

Yeah, a few of the threads/posts out there said the same thing, you had to unbolt the motor mounts and raise the motor a couple inches to get the drivers side headers on. I have been procrastinating on mine until I get my other cruiser back on the road in case I mess up and cannot get finished in one setting;)

When we installed mine, we raised the engine about 1.5-2 inches. Made it a little easier. It took us about 7-8 hours to get both sides installed. The PS is much easier to do. You can access most everything you need from the wheel well. I would tackle the DS first so that you get the most difficult side done. Then the PS will be a breeze. On the DS, we loosened some of the steering components and had to loosen the cats and the next section back on the exhaust. Some folks that installed theirs disconnected the steering linkage. We were afraid we would not get it all back together correctly so we opted not to do that.

Good luck with the install. Wish I had more information to give you, but the guy who helped me did most of the work. I just drank beer and handed him whatever tools he needed.

They are not, or at least do not seem to be. I showed the DT supplied gaskets to the guys at the custom exhaust shop where I had the headers installed and they ALL told me to get new OEM gaskets from the dealer. The gaskets supplied by DT are made of a cardboard-like material and the guys told me they're not built to last. I honestly felt like I could rip them if I really wanted to. The OEM gaskets only cost ~$20 each and are metallic. The additional $40 is worth the peace of mind, IMO.

Thanks, I ordered my OEM ones last night along with the outlet gaskets, the lock nuts, and a few studs

Is anyone organizing a 4th group buy for these or is everyone pretty much calling/emailing nick direct?

I just read 40+ pages of all the DT threads and I'm just about ready to get some of the power back lost from the ARB/Warn and 305s.
