Yeah. It is frustrating that you can fill a ginormous garbage bag with spent shotgun shells while not taking more than one pace in any direction. Just dig into the gravel there must be 3 feet of strata you could sift downwards that is 70 percent casings... And the usual blank looks from the locals as they drove by on the way to shoot 'em up with old rusty BBQ's etc . in the back of the F350 that were likely not there on the way out.

Brass of all descriptions, shells, earplugs, cartridge boxes and a really good burger, Thanks Robert!

A great Cruiser showing, thanks guys and girls!

It was a pretty good day, the weather seemed to hold out for the most part, Robert fed us VERY well and we managed to get a fair amount of crap out even without the backhoe. It was just harder work!

Sorry I was not able to make it out yesterday for this very worthwhile event. The day didn't exactly go as planned...

Good to see out club well represented though.

Rob S., you won a Backroad Mapbook, 3rd Edition.
Andrew S., Rob's son, you won a RUT, Recovery Utility Tool.

I'll bring to the next Cruiser meeting unless I see you sooner.

My oldest daughter and I made it out there just in time for an excellent lunch, and then we headed up the FSR and found a spot where the road was gated down to Stave Lake.
We cleaned up that little area, then checked out the side road below it that was a quick dead end. Someone there had been quite at angry at what looked like the remains of a computer and other household garbage items. The ground was covered in a colourful array of red, blue, and green shotgun casings.
We spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up that area as best as we could, and managed to make a good dent in it before we had to head back.
There was quite a bit of traffic at that gate, several groups showed up and unlocked it, one towing a large boat. Be nice to get that key and see what's down there.

Thanks to Kim and everyone else involved in organizing yet another great event. Not quite the same turnout as last year, but there didn't seem to be as much crap as last year either.
And wow did it start raining as we left around 4! Good timing.

Cool! Thanks!

What did I win?

Over 50 people attended and braved the weather to remove near 10 ton of shotgun shells. Thanks everyone!

Amazingly, your ticket was the only entry in the bucket for the 20L pail of Jergens.

At least my luck is consistent...

Nice work guys. I was going to try and make it out with my trailer but Sat. was the only day I had to finish my sons new sandbox (priorities).

Maybe next time. Good on you guys.

Crap, had every intention of being there, let's just say it's 8:24pm Sunday and I just got off work  :bang:

Good job guys, I see a lot of kids involved, and think you are teaching those kids very important lessons on back country behaviour, wish they would teach this stuff in highschool to all those retards that go out and throw their garbage where they please!

Speaking of retards, my son Andrew told me today that on his way to school on his bike, he saw a home owner rolling out a BBQ to the curb for 'Free'. After school, he saw some retards from the local high school dump that same BBQ in the local creek after smashing it up.

Andrew and his biking buddy went down to the creek and dragged it out onto the bank; we'll go get it later.
