Do I need a primary fuel pump to move fuel from the tank to the motor on the 3BII engine with a rotary injection pump or is the primary pump built into the rotary injection pump? It doesn't have the same priming pump that my BJ60 has.

I assume the lower line is the supply from the tank and the upper one (from the injector overflow) is the fuel return to the tank.

Would it be better, or is it even possible, to install an inline injection pump? I've got a spare one somewhere that needs a rebuild.

i have added a pusher pump near the tank on a couple of the LJ7* and it really does make a difference to the performance and smoothness of the engine...
good investment in my books
cheers

pusher pump .. did you can explain more about it .. ?

a pusher pump gets mounted as close to the tank as possible and it acts to push the fuel along. it has very little ability to suck or pull the fuel.
i read about it on one of the OZ sites and thought it might be a good thing to try...
damn, for $50 (i think) the truck starts easier and runs smoother and has more oooomph...
cheers

I noticed after installing my racor I didn't have to bleed my fuel pump because of the primer on the racor itself.
