3B 12v starter and alternator?

Hello,
I am in the process of swapping a 3B into my '74 FJ40. The donor is a '81 BJ42 from Canada, and 24v. The starter and alternator are the 2 biggest items that I can think of for starting the collection process.
Any one have the above items for sale in the 12v version for the 3B? Has anyone done a frankenstein project and tried to mix parts from another more available(in US), assemblies to create the necessary items in the 12v flavor. Ideas I am not above machining and welding parts to create the necessary mounts, I would like to pick your brains before I start making chips and sparks!

I have an alternator that was rebuilt 2 years ago but could use a set of brushes. I can get a set and send them along with it. PM if interested.

Just as an FYI, make sure you get an early alternator (81-82 I believe) as the later housings are slightlt different. I tried to mount this one on my 84- no go. That said, maybe a newer style will mount on an older 3B, I'm not sure.
