It's so embarrassing asking a tire question, but search sucks for small words like 37s and 55s.

I'm gonna drop the big cash, (for my cheap ass) on some new shoes for the pig and I gotta know they're gonna fit.

SOA and I have no issues with trimming the piss out of it.

Anybody got pics of a pig on 37s?

'Course if woody want to give a guy a good deal on some 39.5s I might just have to trim it a lot. :D

I was looking at mine and I think a q78 is about the perfect size for a 55. If you go any taller than that the tires get so wide that you will rub. You can't trim between the rear door and the wheel well (less that an inch)

SO on 37" MTR's

Doesn't rub sitting in the driveway at all!
Actually, it has been drivin a little and taken to the river for a little flex (not nearly how far it can go), and there were no rubbing issues..... so far.
I'm with you, I'll trim anything that gets in the way, but so far there has been nothing.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I've been debating with myself all day about tire sizes and brands. I think I'm gonna sacrifice mud traction for highway driveability and durability and go with the Goodyear MTR in 37x12.5 over the TSLs or IROKs in 36.

It's a mostly trail truck, but I don't want to have to trailer it. It might drive down the road quite a bit to get to the trail. 3 hours to get to the Badlands. I don't need a TSL blowing apart on me.

That was exactly my thinking when I chose the MTR's. I want to be able to drive long distances, reasonably comfortable, wheel like a madman, and limp home as comfortably as possible.

Also, the 35's on my 40 worked beautifully on the last rubithon.

Pretty happy with my 35" MT/R's, except they suck on hard snow, especially with a rear lunchbox locker...low SOA, no rubbing despite pretty extreme wheeling. 37's with a higher lift would probably be fine.

This was my old rig and in the pic i have 36x14.5 on it but it was capable of fitting 38's easy...Had saggy springs and ALOT of fender(rust) trimming...With a real set of springs would have easily handled 44's but had to sell her and damn do i miss her...

But got me a new one now so all is good....

BTW.. the fender flares were TOTALLY custom...lawl

It's my pig, sprung over on 37" MTR's. I was buying tires, and when I priced them at Walmart, the guy told me it would only be like $3.00 more per tire to get 37's instead of 35's. So of course, I did.

The springs are getting pretty flat, so there is a little rubbing- but only in front- the wheel wells have that lip in front, and the tires have straightened that out a bit. Nothing bad. I plan on re-arching the springs, or maybe a minimal body lift for proper clearance- but it's not really that big of a problem.

I wouldn't have it any other way. Get the 37's, you will love them. End of story.

Shoot me an email if you have any questions or want any more pics- I think I have a few...

Zipp.

Do you guys change the diff ratios for running 35s / 37s and so on? or does it go okay with standard ratios?
What about brakes, surely you'd do a disc front end or something?

Cheers, Dan.

I'm running the stock 4.11's with the 37's and with a V8 and TH350 it goes real good. No power problems at all. I did run it with 4 wheel drums and the stock single circuit master cylinder for a little while. It was hard to slow down the big tires. Now it is 4 wheel disk brakes with a manual dual circuit master cylinder. Testing will begin soon....

Lingo's Mom said:
Q78 is a horrible size. No rubbing will occur with taller tires. You can trim all you want.

And you should always listen to your Mom, Lingo....
Mo-Bigger is Mo-Better.
Q78's are good if you want to keep the tires inside the fenderwells.
And they are bias ply, who wants to do a roadtrip with that?

I'm running a 350, sm420, 3spd tcase. I just start out in second gear, and it drives like a three speed tranny! No power issues...
