Taking MY14 in for its 30k service. I was told the cost is 1k from Boulder Toyota. What have you guys paid and what actually needs to get done? For instance, they recommended front end alignment which I don't think I need as it rides freaking straight.

That does seem a little high.

Here's the LX 570 WSG for reference, should be essentially the same. Oil Change, Cabin and Engine Air Filters, Change Brake Fluid, and a number of various inspections.

I am around 33k now, even though they are not due yet (but recommended at that mileage for "severe service,") I will be changing the Transfer Case and Both Differentials as preventative maintenance with @MScruiser's helpful videos. The truck is around 4 years old now and it can't hurt to have fresh oil in the differentials and transfer case now rather than later.

Of course, if you're selling yours soon as you mentioned, no point in doing anything more than the required maintenance.

I'm such an idiot. I found that maintenance guide in the glove compartment

did you ever set up an account on the mytoyota site? Tracks that stuff for you

Go to the Toyota website and you'll see a my Toyota tab. Go through the set up deal. When you have a dealer work on your rig your maintenance will be on there and it will be updated by the dealer as they preform maintenance to your truck. You may have to clue the dealer in that you are participating on the site but it will link up and track moving forward. I have my LC and my wife's Sienna on there. It's an easy way to reference what's been completed and what coming up. Enjoy my friend

And there you have it

^^^ nice.

Yea a 30k is just dumping your transfer case and differentials in addition to normal engine oil changes. Dealerships need to make money, and the 30/60/90ks are a thing of the past for how the 200 is designed. We don't have timing belts, we have iridium plugs, coolant is good for 100k on initial fill, and our AFT fluid last longer than 30k. There just isn't much that needs servicing on this drivetrain.

I would recommend exchanging your brake fluid just because it's easy and brake fluid attracts moisture. It never gets changed, and that attraction of moisture is what leads to rust which leads to calipers seizing when the truck gets that 15 year/150k timeframe. When you get to 50-60k, have your trans fluid exchanged. Toyota WS is only designed to last 60k. I could write a novel on this but, it good to get it switched out for the long haul.

I'm halfway thru the 90K on my IS F. I just received Speed Bleeders in the mail today and will install them Saturday and use them for the brake flush rather than doing it "the old fashioned way" like I did recently on the LX. ... I use them on my race bike and love them. I will definitely install them on the LX before I need to flush the brakes the next time. I prefer them over a power bleeder.

FWIW I bought my LX with 9K on the clock and never liked the way the brakes felt. I bled them multiple times and still they got mushy after a week or so. After a full flush, they finally feel nice and solid.

I just purchased a 2014. If the previous owner had service done at the Toyota dealership, would it show up on owners site?
Is it by vin number?

It should

I changed the oil every may and Air filter if needed no matter the mileage. Right after I get back from Moab

I changed the diff fluids with new lockers, but normally do that every 2-3 years. Typically do the Tcase about the same time

60K is a good period for the Tranny, I did mine last summer as I was worried I overheated pulling over the mountains. I knew better than to tow in D (Overdrive) needed to shift down. Had that done at Toyota Mechanic, not dealer.

I havent touched the in cabin filter. I think its in the glove box but havent really looked. I do have a replacement on the shelf though

At 30 I changed oil, front and rear diff And transfer case. $185 for both riffs and transfer case. Oil change can't be that much. $1000!?
Gnarly brah.

Oh ya and cabin and air filter. I would try to find a Indy Toyota machanic. Dealer is a rip off and I just don't trust them.

I called another Toyota dealer a little further from me and was quoted $172 for all necessary services for 30k like brake fluid flushing, etc. Boulder Toyota is a joke. Headed to Mountain states Toyota.

I never have had luck with the Toyota owner's website. My 100 series was bought new in Hawaii and wouldn't register on the site, and now my 200 series won't register either. I've tried on 3 separate occasions to add the VIN but every time I get an error message "Unable to add Vin. Please try later". Really frustrating.

If your a TLCA member they use to give a 10% discount even on service. I have been able to get that at Autonation Toyota
