is your tow hitch perfectly square and level unlike mine?

I think so! How bad is yours?

You know it's serious when even the UN avoids the twin-turbo and choose naturally aspirated V6.. it's not flashy.. it's not fast..but it also won’t shower the Sahara in shrapnel when the bearings let go
Aren't all 300s now using the twin turbo v6s? Same as the LXs?

@hawkQTR : Only engine options available are twin turbo gas/petrol and twin turbo diesel..

There are currently 3 powertrain variants of the LC300:

  1. GRJ300: 1GR 4.0 V6 @271hp (petrol)
  2. VJA300: 3.4 L V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 @409hp (petrol)
  3. FJA300:F33A-FTV twin-turbo V6 @304hp (diesel)
  4. There will be a hybrid variant of VJA300 coming at Q3/Q4 this year (similar setup as the LX700h
The 1GR, is only offered in the GCC markets (Middle East) and few selected Asian markets.

If the UN is using the NA V6 variant it is possibly due to being a lower cost powertrain.

Toyota Gibraltar is Toyota's official direct sales supplier for the UN, Humanitarian Aid and Conservation organisations worldwide.
On their website they offer the 300-series in either the Twin Turbo V6 petrol or Twin Turbo V6 diesel.

Top Gear visited Toyota Gibraltar a couple of years ago and made of video of it:

Okay okay, totally hijacking. But Ineos did a fine job with the grenadier.

Out in Seattle for a cardiac surgery conference, rented a grenny for escapades in between lectures on ideal bentall procedure techniques and the efficacy PDL1 inhibitors in preop lung cancer.

Have been pleasantly surprised. Solid as a tank, hits and maintains highway speeds no problem. Electronics are weird and annoying, and the sound system sucks. Think 1984 Ford Mustang. Tinny, no bass, distant sound. Great for audiobooks.

But the interface is great, very comfortable, and if I wasn't spoiled by my LX600, I think I'd buy one. View attachment 3897813View attachment 3897814View attachment 3897815View attachment 3897816View attachment 3897817
I like the looks of the Grenadier, a nice cross between a G-wagon and Defender (old school version). If you wouldn't mind sharing where you rented it from, I am going to Seattle in mid July and may rent one for kicks.

Btw, PD-L1 agents work real well in neoadj lung CA, I use them a lot.

Waiting for my LX700 OT to get back from Dissent.

1) Turo. Great experience. Use the company often, and Matt (who owns the grenny) was great.
2) are you a fellow CT surgeon, or are you on the oncologic side? And yes, lovely to have finally had a major break through in medical management of not just non-small cell, but nearly all types of neoplastic disease.

3) whatcha got dissent doing with your 700h?

Thought it might have been Turo. Never used it but will try
I am an oncologist
Dissent is putting sliders (yes, they are body mounted but will serve my purpose esp after seeing Ben’s video using them in Moab on his sequoia), bumpers, roof rack, winch etc etc

Size comparison of lx700 to gx460. Funny how the gx has the bigger engine but smaller front end still in comparison. Lx is much better proportioned all around and doesn't look weird on some angles. Even new gx550 to me is hideous. Not liking the stop start tech on the lx700h. Few good things about the gx- engine is always on and no spy telemetry data being transmitted..I may never let the gx460 go.

Suspension plus a 3 inch body lift was what the Baja guys had to do to get 37's.
I love how little the massive grill looks once you slap massive tires on the truck!
