3 speed bearing retainer mistry???

Has anyone seen this bearing retainer on 3 speed? It doesn’t have TEQ stamp, yet it was on my 3 speed? Other bearing retainers I’ve seen have the mfr. stamp.
Also the OD is bigger on stamped bearing retainer!
34.2 is OD of old one and 37.1 is OD of stamped one.

The bearing retainer in the "old" pic looks to be an aftermarket, non-original, part. Maybe @Downey will add some context.

It’s a common thing with V8 conversions to turn down the OE retainer to accept a Chebby TO bearing. I have a few of them on the shelf for people who have damaged/broken snouts.

That is a special bearing retainer we manufactured for Chevota conversions. It aligns into a Chevy bellhousing for machine alignment, and accepts the smaller I.D. Chevy throw out bearing- - -easy deal.

Just, so I’m clear….. since I have the Chevota (V8 with Toyota 3 speed) I need to run the smaller OD retainer.?

Is the retainer easy to change as it looks. 4 bolts, new gasket and seal, then I’m good to go?
