When changing my rear springs my floor jack did not extend as far as it use to. Not sure where the manual is. Is there any type of service you can do to these things?

It's basically just hydraulic fluid and o-rings. You can add fluid, but if it's leaking past an o-ring, you'll need to replace it.
These jacks seem to have a short life spand..... I have 2 w/ the same problem... one when using the release or down mode, you better be ready, it lowers in a damn hurry! no controlling it. A local hydraulic jack repair service center has informed me the cost of repairs would exceed the value of a new one...even if I preformed the labor task myself..they claim all seals and control valves are metric and are hard to come by.. what he lead me to believe is they are throw-away jacks... but this is only one jack-ass opinion.. haven't had time to mess w/them yet, but I'm still lookn' to fixem tho.

It is probably low on fluid.
Goto real parts store and get a bottle of "hydraulic jack oil".
Remove pop in rubber plug on body of jack, fill w/ oil.
Cycle jack a couple times, check & top off oil.

I noticed the same issue on my cheapo Harbor Freight floor jack when I was installing 4" springs. I'm thinking of buying a new more reliable one. Although I only paid $35 for this one and it has helped install over 15 lifts!

when this was discussed a while back, there was IIRC a HF jack that was much taller than most others and seemed like a good deal.
I have the Costco one and happy with it, but could be a tad taller (it's 23" IIRC).

I bought my Michellin at Costco, do you have the same jack?
I don't think so, mine is a blue one, the brand is Arcan. Got it 3 years ago.

Ditto on the Costco blue jack. It does great for my cruiser needs and I can use it on my low slung car. The nice thing about this jack is that it has grease fittings that make PM on the jack a breeze.
