He want a 2UZ inside .. something injected, or could be a LS1 .. ?

I thought we need to keep ( for axles reliability ) under 450 HP and torque .. the idea it's in first place keep it as Toyota as posible ( the reason for the 2UZ engine ) means if we take the V8 2UZ engine route, gonna need a stand alone harnes to run the less sensors as posible ..

If we take the LS1 route, one adapter to the H150 tranny and same way run less sensors as posible ..

Coments are very apreciated ..

V8 it's the way .. so all are agre to run a chevy engine, but need to be injected .. don't wanna spend time dealing with carbs ..

recomendations ?

450hp is alot of power for any naturally aspirated EFI engine. If he has the cash, a Ramjet 350 would probably be his best bet & probably the easiest to install. If thats a little too much $$ he could get a chevy 6.0 LS1 & be into for probably $2500, for around 300hp. LT1's are decent but the 6.0 is a better choice in my opinion.

Keep the blood line pure, a toyota in a toyota, a much nicer engine then an LS1, certainly overhead cams etc and the toyota build quality would be more then enough to sway me towards the 2UZ conversion.

pre cupped engine, not safe to go over board.

He were to drop in a 1hd-ft and could prolly safely pull almost 260Hp and over 500 foot pounds of torque.

That being said and me being a hudge diesel fan, nothing beats the sound a V8 with HP, power to weight is pretty darn impressive. Especially for slinging mud.

2UZ. The wiring harness can be made fairly easily. It is not a big problem to integrate that harness into the 80 series harness. The are no more sensors on the 2UZ than on an LS1. The adapters may be a different story. You could use the whole drivetrain out of a newer Cruiser but then you would have an auto. That would be my route, but some still like the manual shift. I have seen both and I like the all Toyota idea best.

Sixty ... In your opinion which could be the best engine to adapt to a Toy drive train like that ( we are talking ) with 5K ..

In a IDI engine you need to take more care on the precups .. I thought with the right turbo and water/intercooler we can reach the 200 HP line .. but it's hard and expensive .. looks crazy but much more simple doing a V8 conversion to get as stock more HP than you can get with a turboed and higly modified 1HZ ..

many here would give their left nut for that diesel motor considered for swapage. How much extra power can be modded out of the diesel?

It depends on diesel and how much reliability, long lastin engine you expect .. coz centanly with more boots on the engine more wear ..

In OZ the 105 series come with the 2UZ engine and manual trannys H151 ..

I couldn't find that kind of jungle mudd down here in So Cal if I wanted to. nice rigs and my vote is for the 2UZ

Little update for this thread .. I already buy the engine, from a 2003 Toyota Tundra and go with cams, heads, rods and few more thing to get it up to 250 rwhp . !

It will take time to be done .. I hope some pics of the engine and the upgrade process

I have been "Slowly" working on my 1962 FJ40 engine swap using a
1UZ or 2UZ....presently I have a 1UZ Toyota marine engine just setting in it doing measurements and was going to use a manual belhousing to use a Toyota manual trans but I have changed my mind...

I picked up a complete 4.7 drivetrain with harness and ECM that I'm
going to use instead.. There are a couple of places that make manual belhousings for the Toyota V8's..
