2L-TE engine swap on 2nds gen 4Runner (1 Viewer)

I have a 1990 auto 4Runner with a blown engine in the US..so I’m wanting to swap out for a 2l-te mostly because it’s my understanding it could swap over to the current automatic transmission bellhousing and it will be reliable. Any info on this route would be very helpful
