2h HJ75 88 turbo + intercooler help

So i am hopefully scoring a great deal on second hand turbo kit from a mate for my 2h :) a much needed upgrade... however I am stuck for ideas on intercoolers. Wondering if anyone has done a easy front mount? i dont wanna go water 2 air too much to go wrong and top mount are pretty much pointless so is a front mount possible ? Its an aussie model. Other idea is should i just not intercool?


Ideas would be appreciated
 
can't tell in your 75 series but at least in my 60 series there is no space .. ( I have AC condenser, oil coolers etc on front )

There ain't a lot of room in a 75 for an intercooler. especially if you have twin air cond fans like I have. Remove the grill and push the intercooler out front. I have the same problem want an intercooler but no room unless I pull the RADIATOr and air cond also backwards as I have tonnes of room inside

Clint that looks sick! Did that take a heap of work? I have pretty much given up on an intercooler still pressing forward with the turbo side of things but and ill just run the boost round 8 and watch my EGTs etc etc...

One thing im wondering Im pretty sure this turbo im getting is an AIT turbo havent found much about them... anyone and thing to say about them?

Also do the HJ 75s have a bung alread in the sump i can use for the oil line?

Anyone got a tut on to install a turbo kit on one o em... i got a pretty good idea but pics and instructions or tips would be a big help!
 
It took me a while to do it but I had no other 7x series to copy the front mount idea off so I had to do a bit of thinking then fabbing but it can be done if you can use work tools.to do a second one would be much quicker and easier.

A few mates with turbod 2h troopys and utes had run turbos with no dramas at all.
Normally around 8-12 psi,no coolers.Just drive to the egt gauge.
Does your 75 have a/c.

You should really keep boost under 12-13 PSI (.8-.9 bar) in a 2H and at that boost I find mine runs well, far less smoke and decent power at my altitude (4400 - 9200 feet). The 2H isn't built for speed, that's for sure.

I really think an air to water is the best bet, you still have short piping so very fast boost response and you don't really have to chop up much if anything.

If you lose the pump or the water on an air to water then you drive to the EGT gauge as stated above until you can fix it. a decent air to water is far more expensive but seems to be far more consistent at slow speeds and highway speeds.
