I'm wondering how similar the 2H engine and 12HT engines are. I know obviously the 12HT is turboed, but I'm wondering how many of the internal components are shared? If I went to a Toyota dealer in North America would I be able to get parts for the 2H that would work for the 12HT? Any info is appreciated. Thanks :D

I think the bottom ends and the block are the same. The head is way different. No glow plugs on the 12H-T. Water pump, thermostat, PS that kinda stuff is all the same.from what I can tell...

Hey, thanks for the input. So if one of the accessories on your 12HT packs it in, say the starter, what do you do for parts?
I just finished looking at the 60's forum and your new bumber for your 61. Awesome! Others on the international forum should take a look. This truck makes me drooooool big time. Paul

Thanks for the props on the bumper....It realy worked out well for us.

As for the accesories, yup, they all look the same as my brothers HJ60 with the 2H. Some things are a little different. Like the oil cooler housing on the 12H-T does not have a removable frost plug for a block heater. Little things like that but in general (and according to the FSM for the 2H and 12H-T) everything is very close to the same.

Very cool truck. I'm guessing that the nickname is Marmaduke. Good name, any reason why in particular?

hehehe

Marmaduke came from the fact that I was running tall skinny tires, 9.00R16 XLs, with no spacers and NO shocks... I looked like a clumsy great dane that that was very top heavy....hence Marmaduke was born.

Some said it looked like a fat lady in a sack race going down the street....but I didn't like the name Ethel. :D

I have since added proper tires and spacers and have shocks on all 4 corners...
