Pressurized oil comes from a remote oil filter that is located on the firewall.
coolant lines are run from the block drain (under the exhaust manifold) to one of the ports on the Thermostat.
WTF is that big ugly beast?

Oh man,
I have been wanting to ask to see this infamous turboed 2F that roosts 38's, sounds like a fun project
and a very viable option to avoid an engine swap.
Do you have any idea what cars that turbo came on, feeling kinda lazy at the moment.
Also, when dose the turbo spool on the 2F
Again very neat stuff Mace

Those T04's are on Ebay all the time for $250 with a year warranty. Sometimes that price will even include some piping and flanges.

Anybody know if an Aisin 2 barrell could keep up with the turbo? Obviously major re-jetting would be required. It'd be a lot simpler (and cheaper) to keep the stock carb if possible.

It is easier to find one rebuilt.
There are other options available too. Ball bearings on the turbo shaft would make it spool up faster.
And if you are going to run a wastegate trying out a T03/T04 hybrid would probably be perfect..
It would spool up faster and you could limit the boost..

The Asin would probably choke out pretty bad. From what I understand they are like a 300cfm or so unit.

Since you seem to be the Authority
your opinion... What would say a 2f t4 turbo'd/4speedLC/tcaseLC with 4.10 gears and 33" or 35" tires do on the street? Not talking off-roading/rockcrawling ect, just daily driving/towing ect. Knowing that the LC was never great at gas milage, any idea what someone would get out of the gas 2F turbo now? Just a guestimate. Just toying with ideas for future projects

lol, I guess..
DD it could get 12-14 mpg easily.
33's would really provide you a lot of power. 35's would be reasonable.
I am contemplating turbocharging my 73 on 31's just to see how well it does when not set up poorly (bad gear ratio/tire size)

Seeing as how the stock Aisin isn't going to keep up with the turbo, and propane isn't where I'm headed, I'm thinking that TBI would be a good route to go for this set-up.
Mace- What do you think the life expectancy of a 2F bottom end will be with the turbo at lower boost pressures? How long have you been running your system?

I have had mine in for a bit over 2 years. But that is not much mileage in that period.
I see no reason that the bottom end of a cruiser motor shoudl not be able to deal with a turbo for over 100K. As long as you don't wrap out the motor (like over 5 k a lot) the cruiser bottom end will be fine.
Draw through TBI would be a very simple and economic way. That is actually what I am leaning towards with the 72. Burning the chip would be the most complicated part. But that is pretty easy too.

I'm considering the system at
www.customefis.com . This would be a no-brain, totally bolt-on deal.

Could this be run with a TBI?? Or would that even make any sense?
Ummmm, TBI is what we're discussing. Read carefully above.

Custom EFI's sounds a bit on the complicated and pricy side.

Again, Megasquirt is nice but too complicated.
I have hit 12 lbs without boost control or an intercooler.
