Here are some pics of my Tbi install. The kit includes wiring harness, ecu, ect, tps, map, iac, tb unit, fuel pump, cel, ign.module, flash chip, chip burner/programmer, burn software, aldl connector, aldl to comm port cable, tb unit adapter, fuel line, all relays, fuel fittings(push lock). I opted not to use a knock sensor or vss. They are not needed. I really didnt want to make this a how to thread but will answer any questions. I did this conversion in a desmogged 84 fj60. My last road trip was about 300 miles through the mountains to Telluride. I averaged 16-17 mpg, up and down the mountains with it loaded down with hunting stuff. I pulled Monarch pass at 55mpg. No one was more happier or surprised than me. I will bet, I can push 20mpg on the highway at a good cruising speed. Im sure some know where I bought my kit, but would rather not even bring the name up. It was a bad idea. All of these parts other than the harness, burner and software and tb adapter are off the shelf or found in any junkyard. I bought the kit for the simple fact of I was going to need tuning assistance. I did not get assistance from the company I bought from after he got my final payment. Knowing what I know now, I would have bought all the parts myself, burner from moates, either make the adapter, and harness myself, or downey makes the adapter, and painless wiring makes the harness. I also found a guy that helped me tune it to perfection on another forum. Thanks Bill. Here are the pics. Ill start with a befor pic of my desmogged weber setup.

The distributor mechanical advance, vacuum advance need to be disabled and set to dead 0 degrees. Here is the ignition module wired to the distributor.

I mounted the brains in the glove box area, the aldl connector and cel right of steering column.

Wow!

Did this come as a kit or did you piece it all together?

Should this be in the Hardcore section?

I bought as a kit. I would suggest now to peice it together. The parts are easy. The tuning and know how was the hard part. I will make a parts list and post. I will be willing to share some of my programs if needed.

I have more pics of harness routing and whatever but is pretty trivial. Again to make a how to is a lot of work..although I will answer any questions. I will say it is the best thing I have ever done to the 60. I dont have a pic of my final air intake but it is basically a turbo hat looking thing piped to a cone filter behind the left front headlight(stock spot)

Great thread. Any chance of putting it on a dyno?

There is a dyno within 15 miles of me. I will get it over there when hunting season is over. Its hard to guess but I would bet that torque and hp went up at least 20%. But who knows. All I know is an Rv cam and high comp. pistons might be in order.

Fine looking intake & exhaust manifolds, too. Wait a minute - those are mine, you bastard!

Bastard? I thought they were mine. Unless doing the work on your 60 in trade didnt count. Youre just pissed off my 2f runs better than your vortec or runs at all.

YES. This is exactly what I'v been wanting to do. None of the customizing shops have the balls in my area to take on a project of this caliber, nice work. Would like some info on the kit though, as well as the eprom tables you tuned up, assuming you're using a G.M. Ecu.

And that's my carb isolator! No, the trade is just fine - don't see any oil under my '83 & the PS pump is still great.

Just glad you fought through the problems & got 'er running good before Telluride.

You've got the makings of a truly turnkey EFI for the 2F. Now you need a couple of beta testers (maybe 2Bad can be the master).

P.S. The Vortec is running fine - tranny didn't even set the CEL yesterday.

BTW - you need to modify your choke light to a CEL like mine: I'll tell you how (looks trick).

probably later than sooner.
we've already talked about doing this on the 40.
an already built 2f with TBI :D YIKES!

already runs great with the 38mm weber, i can't imagine it TBI'd

Thanks for the pics. WHere did you get the throttle cable bracket>

I made the throttle cable bracket from scratch.. There was a fair amount of custom fab. The cable and pedal are both Lokar.
