Question for the gurus on this site:

I had my 2F motor rebuilt by Yota1 Performance and it's running beautifully. The brake in period of 500 miles has been completed. I'm going to change the oil (Yota1 recommends Toyota 10w30 oil) My question in addition to the oil change is to check the valves clearances? Change the valve cover gasket or reuse the slightly used one? Anything else?

Thank You!!

Congrats! I'd say yes to checking the valves and probably not to a new gasket. The only other thing would be to re-torque the head bolts if you were feeling particularly motivated.

I’m trying to find a picture I saved but many use an oil that has zinc in it for these 2F engines. Not sure about the Toyota oil. @wngrog would know he posted the picture I’m thinking of.

Found it

FYI Kinda funny Nolan just posted over in the 40 section he’s going to use rotella 15w-40 for break in oil and then switch to the valvoline.

I use Rotella for everything F or 2F all the time.
