a somewhat local guy is looking for a late 2F head, flat top pistons. I have 2 on the shelf, let me get them checked and sell one to him. both of mine have cracks between the valves.

I also have some earlier 2F heads, domed pistons.

I could be way off but I thought there was an article in trails years ago about using an earlier head and having .01" or was it .1" shaved off it to compensate for the open chamber and not affecting the overall integrety/strength of the head.
I can't seem to find it

I check FAQ and didn't see anything???

did I dream this article up?

Not sure on the article. But I have seen similar ideas posted here more than a few times. I wanna say that it is .1 that needs to come off for the comp ratio to be comparable. I also seem to remember reading that with that much off of an open chamber head, the whole thing may be prone to preignition when under load due to the open chamber design not being very efficient when it comes to squish. I have entertained the idea of doing something similar, but taking much less off the older head.
