I was linked to the autozone site for the repair handbook for my 1984 SR5 pickup and presented with the following options.

Available engines
4 Cylinders R 2.4L 2BL
4 Cylinders R 2.4L FI

Can someone tell me what 2BL and FI stand for?

i hope you are joking, 2bl is carburetor, FI is fuel injection!
2 BL is actually 2 barrel carburetor.

um, actually no. just not familiar with the abbreviations. I figured FI was fuel injection. it was the 2bl that threw me.
