Thank you @tbisaacs for the write up and resources here. Took a lot of the stress out of the process. Icon Rebounds (18x9, +25mm) with Atturo Trail Blade XTs. Definitely under represented on here as far as tires go, but had excellent luck with their MTs and briefly with a set of these XTs on a previous vehicle. Figured for a mind-bogglingly good Christmas deal at $146 a tire and free shipping, I'd be happy to run them again. Will save that diatribe for another thread.
Got away with basically half a pinch weld job (with liner molding obviously), and some very mild trimming up front. They appear at this time to clear the fenders just fine, not even close to contacting the UCA, nowhere close to the body mount, all gravy. Have some of the front trimming left to do, got done what I could during a lunch break.
Hot take, an LX should had shipped with 18's. Ignore the dilapidated Montero... not all Japanese trucks were built the same.
