Is $35k a decent price for this? i think i can ask to lower to maybe $33 or so.
Please give me some advice. thanks
There's too many variables for us to give you a definitive answer on that question. I do feel it's on the high side but still in the ballpark. With used vehicles, it takes a few years to fully realize if you got a good deal or not.
Some things I consider when analyzing value.
1- Condition. Has it been well maintained AND treated kindly?
2- How easy is the purchase? Is it across the street from a reputable seller or is it across the country from an unknown source.
3- Maintenance. What work has been done and what will it need in the next 20k or 50k miles?
4- Color. Is it my first, second, or third choice.
5- Price. How much am I overpaying versus what savings did I get?

In 2018, I overpaid for my 2005 100 series by about 10%. KBB was $12,500 and I paid $14,000. Damn I miss pre-covid prices. Rust free, very well maintained, one owner family vehicle, that was a simple fly and drive. I felt i got a fair deal and it turned out to be super reliable so I was happy overall. A buddy of mine bought a 2000 LX in late 2019 for $6k. He thought he got a smoking deal. Rust issues led to ripping out AHC and he had to replace the engine. He spent as much as I did in the end. And it's still rusty.

September of 2024 is when I bought my LX. It's a 2013 which had 87k miles at the time. One owner, dealer maintained, first choice of colors, and rust free from Dallas. Out the door price was roughly $31,800 which doesn't include state taxes as that's variable between states. It was obvious that it was a family car as the rear seats had car seat wear and there were small dog hair still in the cracks of the seats. Other than the regular wear and tear you'd expect from kids, the LX was in excellent mechanical condition and looked new underneath. Original radiator was in place although it was showing signs of needing replacement so I put that on the list of things to do. By the time I drove it 2,000 miles home, I think I had an all in cost of about $35k. I feel I got a great deal on this one even if I did need to replace the radiator.

Moral of the story, what's it worth to you when you factor in what you want and what you need?

Thanks Jlm43,
I checked services history on "MyLexus" and the truck has been regularly maintained by Lexus dealer. It is a Northern California truck for the entire life.
Yes, i like the color combo, and the car is 3 hours from my home.
I just scheduled with Lexus dealer a PPI this Friday, and will see how it goes. Yes the car a little dirty (carseat amd kids), and the engine was covered with dust (rural farming area) when I saw it last week. With that said, I think the seller is honest, and decent, didn't bother to wash the car before showing to me :)

I don't need an other LX right now, but really want one LOL.

I asked for 161-point inspection from lexus dealer (part of the deal), and a pdf report of the findings. The seller only sent me partial pages of the report (pictures of the hardcopy report), omitting some pages in between. I asked for those pages multiple times, and no answer. Not sure if he's busy, or he's not tech savvy or just doesn't want me to see those pages.

At this point, I don't feel too good about the deal :)

He 100% omitted the pages showing issues

If you paid and arranged how can he rightfully withhold from you?

Original plan was that I would come early Friday at 8:30, bring the car to Lexus dealer myself but at the last minute, he said he had other plan on Friday and could not do it. He offered to to do it himself on Thursday. I let him do it on Thursday, I ask for PDF report but he send me pictures of some papers. After the missing pages, i called Lexus dealer asking for the report, and of course they said NO due to CA law.

Also i said i would meet him in a Chase bank, but later he wanted to change the place since he was not available on this Friday. I said hell NO, I don't want to hold 35K in cash and go to a God Know Where place.

It may be false flag or real red flag, but i don't feel good now, and don't want to buy the car anymore eeven if it comes out clean.

Yes, I am done with this one and still looking for a 2013-2015 LX with ML audio.
For now, I just enjoy my LX470 lol.
