Hey guys,

It's been a while since I posted ... And this won't be a Cruiser post. I just bought 2 80's pickups. The first was a 1988 long bed. The other is a 1982 short bed. The '88 is retry well sorted mechanically, but I have a few items I would like to do (desmog, seals, etc.). Could anyone recommend a mechanic in the triangle that is good with these engines?

Thanks!

Talk to @fourtrax, @4LowandSlow, or @SFROMAN. All of them have deep dived into the 22R motor. If they can't help you tackle the mechanicals of your motor(s), they can probably direct you to someone who can.

I forgot that the first rule of mud was ... "If there's no pictures, it didn't happen". LOL

Enjoy!!

The google says T Hoff is closed. :(

David Jordan Auto in Fuquay (deep south Fuquay) is one of the few that i would let work on my stuff for straight up mechanical. I just had rotator cuff surgery. i won't be doing anything for a spell.

So where did these beauties come from? Gonna keep both?
The 88 is from "AlwaysToyota" on IG. Great guy to work with. Have talked with him about others, but never pulled the trigger. The 82 is from BaT.

Keeping both is not in the cards. If I had to pick one right this moment, I would keep the 82 and sell the 88. But, it's too early to tell. I was planning to make the long bed a camping rig (7 ft bed, drawer platform, exped megawatt, etc.), but I really love the style of the 82. I'll likely do a little work to each and then decide.

Thank you sir. Do you think he would be able to do a full desmog?

And #2 is here !!

I would like to start by saying that ig you were stuck in traffic on Six Forks around 545 today ... I apologize. The driver decided to park his car hauler in the right lane during rush hour traffic.

On the way home, it drove like crap! Somehow one of the plug wires shook loose. Pushed it back, adjusted the idle, and she runs great!

Everyone has pointed me in the right direction, so far. Any recommendations on some local paint shops that do good work at a good price? Not looking for a show quality finish, but both could use some work. Thanks !!

2 very dope trucks. Congrats!

I’m obviously a fan of first gens but that second gen looks amazing.
Congrats
