Need to order a new cap and rotary button for my carbureted 22R out of an ‘85 model pickup. Are the caps the same for both the 22R and RE? I’m finding several different caps and different fitment info online.

Good question, and I see your confusion. Two scans from the Toyota Fast Moving Parts Catalog, 2000.

Rotors.
1985 and early 1986 22RE, and 22R 1985-1988 were the same rotor (19102-16060). When I enter -16060 at Camelback Toyota it's replaced by -73180.

1986-1989 22RE was 19102-73021, which is a different part. No idea why my 1985 22RE uses a different rotor than 1986 plus.

Caps.

1983-1988 22R is 19101-35120. Camelback says "without efi."
1985-1989 22RE is 19101-35190. Camelback says "with efi."

When I run into this kind of confusion I understand why my dealer wants my VIN. If you really have a bunch of time to spare you can go to a site like Rockauto.com and see what assortment of part numbers you get. I suspect there is a lot of cross interchange going on.

@pappy thank you the clarification!! I really think they would probably all interchange but I just didn’t want to risk ordering then finding out they wouldn’t. Shipping times these days always scare me. I am going to order the corresponding numbers you posted. Thanks again!
