Which Akebono are you using? I see several options.

For the LC I used to get shuddering every 20k miles with the oe stuff. Been about 40k on this set and no issues. Had horrible squeal on my IS350 with stock pads. Lexus forum pointed to these - they have copper fibers so they bite like metallic but have the low dust like ceramic.

I will never run akebonos based on my experience using their euro ceramics slowing even gradually from 130+ on a past vehicle.
Shudder right after a dealer rotation could very well be warped rotors, possibly from not torquing the lugs evenly.

Did you ever try the 319 stoptechs? Truck model?

All I’ve used were the OE Toyota pads and TRDs. The latter need care to avoid uneven deposits and bedding as soon as that starts but otherwise work great. I drive my rig pretty hard so others may not have this issue.
My point was if akebono released a pad that performs that poorly I don’t trust their product development in general.

Felt smooth to the touch through gloves but obviously its not evenly deposited on.

There's definitely no lube on those pins. Do you feel or hear significant drag when you turn it by hand? As for the scoring, that's from either hard points in the pad or debris that got in between. Visually, it doesn't look bad from the pic.
