Still working on the truck, ended up sandblasting rear half of it and 2 coats of por 15. While I had it off, added lights and power to the bed.

An attempt at a quick intro here: I just moved to Kansas in August and bought my 94 FZJ80 w/ factory lockers in November (from the Carolinas, near where I used to live) as a replacement for the 2016 Tacoma (tan DCLB Offroad) that I've planned on selling for a year now (just sold a few weeks ago).

So far I've removed the side-steps, installed weathertechs, installed a new battery, changed out the fluid in the differentials and transfer case, and fixed a leak from what I believe is the center diff locker. I just purchased the CDL from Slee and will be buying the 2.5" OME lift and new tires (probably 295/75r16 BFG T/A) in the coming months. Eventually, I'll add a Shortbus bumper and roof rack.

I live in Overland Park, near "downtown" Old OP and work off 135th. I've seen a few rigs around the area and one that I think spends the 9-5 right down the street from me (I left a note but no response). Looking forward to meeting some of you all. I'm a TLCA member and I need to officially sign up for Tornado Alley Cruisers but just haven't gotten the application mailed.

Where on 135th?

Where on 135th?

Right by the Hyvee at 135th and Antioch. Are you out that way?

I’ve been seeing a really nice gray one with lift and bumpers near 135th and Metcalf that was apparently for sale.

Pin 7 mod wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Much easier when you pull the seat.

Yeah, managed the CDL switch and 7-pin mod last night without removing the side panel. Also used the block tester from orielly’s to test for head gasket leak and all checked out. I’ve got a full bottle of test fluid if anyone wants to use it.

.

Your probably going to want a custom made one off job with expanded metal floor, adjustable mounts, and professional powdercoat. Lucky for you I know a guy .....

Yes, My office is at 130th and Metcalf.

Got one side of my tiedown system installed on the truck. Made huge washers behind it out of 12 gauge stainless steel

Also tore off all of the removable rusty parts under the GX, and took to the sandblaster, got some wire brush work to do on the frame

I might try to tackle the transmission flush (using the transmission fluid pump) this weekend if anyone wants to come by and join in or has any tips. I've read up on the process on here and have a good plan of what to do.

The brake fluid needs to be flushed as well. Is anyone using speed bleeders? I haven't used them before but might be worth it for this job

Also, I think I need a new valve cover gasket. Any recommendations for where to buy? Just Olathe Toyota?

assuming you joined TAC, paid your $$$, we get discounts at Olathe and Molle.

Here's a tip on the transmission flush, make sure you get enough fluid back in it or it will shift like $hit ! The speed bleeders are helpful for the brake flush, but you could also just gravity bleed assuming the bleeders aren't corroded shut.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be measuring what comes out and refilling as needed. I'll also be sure to check the dipstick.

True, I might try a gravity flush. The truck came from Utah so hopefully no seized nuts/bolts/screws.
