I have a 2016 Land Cruiser and just did an Ironman FCP 1” comfort lift on it but seems closer to 2” of lift. Also about a month ago put BFG KO3’s in 285/65/18 on the truck. Had it aligned after the lift and it drives nice and straight now but the specs seem a bit strange. What do y’all think? Truck currently has 154k miles and running 42psi

They got really lazy and didn't do a full alignment. They just touched the tie rod ends to adjust toe. They also need to adjust the eccentrics on the lower control arm to dial in caster and camber. Obvious as nothing changed there. Especially on the passenger side, but there should be a bit more caster, just over 3, on both sides.

Got it thanks for your insight. What else should they touch to adjust the toe? In the state that it is in now am I running the risk of wearing down my new KO3's prematurely?

Toe is fine now, IMO. That's all they fixed. If you paid for a full alignment, you should go back and tell them they didn't do a full alignment, or just go to a better shop.

They need to correct the camber (particularly on the passenger side, 2* positive camber will wear the outside edge of the tire and also make the truck less stable in corners. Camber should be as close to 0 as possible or even a little hair of negative camber, like -0.2 to 0.0 is ideal, but IMO no positive camber is acceptable.

Caster should be higher on the passenger side. Ideally you want 2* or more. Driver side is fine, but it was also fine before your alignment.

They clearly didn't do either caster or camber adjustments, they just did a toe-and-go, not a full aligment.

Unfortunately very few alignment techs understand suspension dynamics and cam adjustments. Most certainly they did not adjust Camber/Caster, and this is likely because they didn't know what to do.

Which is wild because on our Hunter machine a basic trained tech could do it.
It will give you a step by step instructions on how to do it, and even tell you the wrench size on some vehicles!

This alignment was pure laziness, or incompetence. As posted above, this was not a proper alignment on a 200.

It is wild, but Hunter is part of the problem. They no longer stress suspension dynamics and adjustments at their training classes. They just spend two days telling you that the machine aligns the car for you. They tell you that Camms is all you need. And I have seen Camms flip out and tell the tech that cars are not alignable. I still prefer the old understanding of rear cam is equal/opposite and front cam is equal/together for camber and caster adjustments. Back to the original post and to echo you, this vehicle never should have left the shop. It is a complete failure of an alignment

I’ll bet a 6-pack that when they do actually adjust the camber and caster, they don’t torque the bolts down to the correct spec anyway.

Ugga dugga
More likely an ug.

If they don't go to spec my money is on them being too loose. My alignment shop was shocked by how high the spec is.

Thanks for info y’all. They are going to redo it Monday. Showed them the sheet and the service manager said definitely needs to be redone. Out of curiosity what’s the spec for torquing down the bolts?

The specific bolts I mention are the ones through the lower control arm pivot bushings, and those go to 207 ft-lbf.

I'm glad they are making it right.

Today they said the camber and caster is maxed out on the passenger side which doesn’t make sense to me since the other side is spec. He said it was due to the lift but with such a small lift height I’m calling bs on that.

You can easily look under there and see if the tabs are maxed out. They’ll have the bolt and center mark all the way to one side or the other.

Stock arms can’t adjust far past about 2” of lift.

Can you upload a picture of your right side cam adjusters?
