2013 144K sorted and mild mods vs. 2021 44K bone stock (1 Viewer)

Hello fellow CruisersFam !

I am sure this is a stupid poll, but seeking advice/help/slap in the nose !

As the title states,

2013 Silver/black 144K miles sorted and by that I mean the big LC200's ticket items: Drive belt tensioner/serpentine belt, timing cover, water pump, thermostat, radiator, and valley coolant; on top of fluid changes, brakes, spark plugs, etc. Dobinson 2.5 ish inches lift, UCLa's, Icon V5 / BFG's KO3. A few minor scrtaches here and there and very minor pin stripes, two profesionally repaired nicks in the windshield... Really, a nice sorted truck. I am the 4th owner, 2nd and 3rd are/were MUD members, 1st was/is old lady traded for a Jag. Texas car

2021 White/black 44K miles bone stock. Old-er lady car looks like new inside sans a few minor scratches here and there. Small windshield crack. Oringinal owner. Texas car.

Sell 2013, get 2021. If I get the white, it will get OEM front suspension spacers, and MAYBE Vector 5/BFG's KO3, or maybe just Vector 5/Michellins. That's all.

I would love to like the LC250 but there are many reasons why I not, so I won't go there. LX600 no thanks with the price tag + engine issues, I am in love with NA V8's LOL.

More background: Had other 3 LC200's, sold for various reasons; had LC100, had LC80 and have LC80. Yes, I have an issue loving LC's! LOL

Yes or not. Any comments are obviously appreciated (don't be shy LOL )

keep the 13, if you want to go back to stock height you can always take the lift off and sell it or trade with someone who is looking for a lift kit. it seems to have everything that you want already

I personally keep my vehicles forever, but that doesn't mean you should to.

The new ride is basically new, and a pristine canvas for your new moding adventure. Now, with all the experience you've got on this you'll be able to truly express yourself in a new build.
So, yes, go for it.

IMO it would depend on what you are able to get for the '13 vs what the '21 would cost OTD with taxes, and particularly if you'd be financing with these crazy interest rates.

Also, don't listen to Ryan.. I think the '13 looks better

Definitely get the 2021 (especially if it is an HE). The last year you can get the 200 quality/engine duo. Keep it forever. This is all assuming you are getting reasonably well priced deals on both sides of the trade.

Thank you all for the great advice. I have been thinking all day and not yet sure what to do. I won't be financing, and the 2013 is paid off. Not sure "best deal" would be but a reasonable maybe thinking I can sell the 13 private for what I think market is for it with the stuff she has. I am sure if I didn't have the LC200 13 I will get the 21, but that is the thing... already have one ! lol. I know, stupid 1st world problem!

I’d get that 2021. They don’t make em anymore. What the hell are you waiting for? You’re asking this question as if Toyota is never stopping production on 200s. Why not get the best and the latest? The 8 speed transmission is awesome. You can slowly do your mods on the perfect platform.

I’d keep the 13 and figure out a way to add another one to your fleet when the funds become available.

If your 13 is sorted and has no rust, there’s no reason to move on from it.

It's an emotional decision, is this the color and spec you want or do you just like the condition? The poster above makes sense in terms of fleet additions. I'd only replace if this is the exact one you want.

I do understand the itch when you find a good condition SUV. Because they're used as family cars it's a lot harder to find one that really is mint - especially in the way most of us define the word mint. I paid 2022 prices for my LX but it was the exact spec I wanted and on delivery day it was in better condition than even I could have kept it in. Never once regretted it. And to find one with only 30k miles in that condition two years later? Much harder.

If white is a selling point, wrap your silver one. Does the 13 leave the road? Are you going to miss that? How likely are you in a year or 2 to start feeling "low" and want to throw the lift on. Then back to square one, building the truck and sorting it out. Again.

I guess I can relate... in summer of '21, we paid about ~15% less for our LC200 than what it stickered for originally.

Took us nearly 2 years of searching to find a 1 owner, black on black '13-15 with sub 15k miles.

Finding an 8 year old LC with sub 15k miles was hard, let alone one made for 3 MY and with specific color combo.

Still not as difficult as finding a sub-60k mile '95-97 LC80 though... One day
