New to me, just drove it 800 miles home with no issues but there is a clicking type sound coming from the right front of the engine. You don’t hear it in the truck unless the window is down and at a stand still.

The phone is making it much louder but here is a video of the sound and while revving

.

Consider the possibility of an exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold. The passenger side manifold cracked on my 2010. The diagnosis was made by hooking up a shop vac to blow air into the exhaust, and then soapy water was sprayed through the passenger side wheel well onto the manifold. Bubbles pinpointed the leak.

I think it might be a timing chain guide, after some research it seems to be fairly common.

Going to try some seafoam and see if that helps.

Good plan. This doesn't sound quite like the more common timing system issues, for the record. But freeing up the mechanisms for the whole system wouldn't hurt.

My vote is timing chain guide. Switch to 5-30 and see if it changes.

Well figured out what is making the sound, at least getting close to it!

Realized that the sound goes away if I turn the AC off. Hoping it’s not the compressor, maybe an AC clutch or a pulley? Weird sound from the AC.

I would take external noise over internal noise any day, all day.

I would think this would be something a trustworthy AC tech could easily diag.
