2011 Land Cruiser Intro and Info “Touch of Grey” (1 Viewer)

Hey team. Finally picked up a LC200. 2011 with 125k. New radiator, no sign of a valley leak (yet!), zero rust on the underside.

I bought my first LC about 5 years ago…a 1997 80 series. Kept it only a few years…bought a really trashed 94 and then eventually a 2000 100 series. For some dumb reason I sold them all…went to a GX470. Loved the GX but wanted something with more power. So I bought a 2016 GMC Denali earlier this year. Kept it 6 months and had to get back to the LC platform.

I picked this up Monday and have put almost 1,000 miles on it since and so far so good.

I won’t be doing a massive build, but I typically add all kinds of different stuff so I’ll use this thread as a basic add-on thread with links and reviews. Nothing mind-blowing here, but as I search the web for certain products the 200 series product reviews aren’t always easy to find.

Hopefully this will help someone. If nothing else it will help me keep everything straight.

First easy thing I did was swap out the gear shifter as the old one was in pretty bad shape. Of course this is an easy swap….unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. This is the exact same size as the OEM despite one of the reviews stating it was smaller. Seems to be pretty good quality…and….$16.

My DS seat had some type of tear or something at one point and looks like it was ‘fixed’ and painted with the exact same finish as the seat…no idea. I thought about buying som nice seat covers, but went with these and they work well. One of the reviews said they fit their LC200 pretty well so I ordered them. Once the wrinkles flatten out they will look pretty good. Seem comfortable. I’ll update on quality and the heated seat effectiveness with them on later.

Phone holder. Not sure I’m into this one, but haven’t found one that will work well with the dash area yet. This one attaches to the vent. I have a feeling when I turn a corner it might tilt while turning. Any other suggestions?

Another cheap mod that covers the yellow’d key fob. I opted this route instead of the expensive 3D printed keys. Fits like a glove and feels nice as well.

I’m using the cravenspeed mount which goes in an empty switch blank. It’s very sturdy and I like that I can adjust the position easily and out of the way of the vent flow. I also modified like this guy did to attach a MagSafe charger.

Thanks. I’m a simple man with simple LC needs.

On the list: blinker relay update, BH3D or whatever cup holder, replace headlights with OEM, install the 2018 rims on it (wheel paint is OOS for at least a few months), detail my exterior windows (water spots/acid rain), paint touch up, etc.

Those crossbars were Thule crossbars. I took them off when o got the LFD. Nice eye!

Installed a fuse block today and some 12v points in the center console below the audio/AC controls. Very cramped in there and I didn’t think I was going to be able to fit everything in there, but it did. Wish I would have been able to mount it 1” higher, but don’t think it would have worked bc of all the stuff in there.

I’ve used Blue Sea before but decided on this one. Seems well made and happy for the price.

I’m mounting it on the DS kick panel. There is an area where I can velcro it and pull it down easily to add more stuff. This is mainly for USB chargers and small stuff. A coat hanger to pull the wire though the center console from the front…pretty easy.

From the battery went to a 40a Busman circuit breaker>Relay>new fuse box. Used the 10a Ignition with a fusetap in the box under the hood yo trigger the relay. Going to mount another of the same 12v power points in the cargo area.

Ah yeah.

The Nalgene and Camelbak won’t seat all the way down bc of the smaller bottom, but they sit on the ridge of that bottom lip and will work fine. The Nalgene is very tight in there and the Camelbak is tight enough where it won’t fall over, which is great.

Moral: I have too many dang water bottles. My wife was more pumped than I was about this cup holder.
