How do you know if your bearing are bad?

Jack up the wheel and spin it by hand, keeping your hands on the tire. If you feel any grinding, hesitation or stickiness and you're 100% sure it's not the rotor/pads, it's likely your bearing. Rotate it both directions to check. I also try to spin the tire as fast as I can and let it free spin and watch for hesitation.

Also, if you grab the tire while it is jacked up and you can wobble it around, either your bearing is shot or your tie rod end.

Lastly, if the bearing squeals or grinds while driving or turning, it's telling you. ;)

As much of a PITA it is to press the old hub out, I'd just buy the bluepit option. That's what I did on both my fronts. To swap the whole assembly as received from Bluepit:

Raise front > remove wheel > remove disk and caliper > remove axle nut > remove 4 bolts from hub assembly >remove hub assembly > clean the cavity if you want. Installation is the reverse of removal and the 2nd one I did took me about 25 minutes start to finish.

Thanks, I've already done the bearing replacement, I'm thinking of repurposing the old assembly to make my daughter a potter's wheel. I've already pressed the bad bearing out and want to put a new one in.

Little joe is correct. My truck had a buzzsaw/rumblestrip effect when I was on the freeway. The sound and the vibration got worse when I turned right vs left so that told me it was a passenger side wheel bearing. I always replace bearings in pairs and after I replaced them, the sound and the vibes went away 100%.

FYI, just replaced my front bearings and hub assemblies on my 2005 GX today from a guy on the Tacoma forums, he started a website "JerseyBuiltHubs." Install went smoothly, hardest part was getting the tin cap off from The center of the hub.
Shipping was crazy quick, price was great:

looks like it has a Koyo Bearing and is $110/hub assembly

I have some humming coming from my front end, It goes a way when I turn right, so I imagine that means the right side bearing is going, right?
