Well I thought I was going to be able to make this one, but something has come up. Perhaps next year. Have a great run and a good time. :)

Well that and my cousin is having a baptism for his son on the 15th in South Lake Tahoe. I couldn't in good conscience say I couldn't make that, because I was just south of Lake Tahoe two weeks earlier, and didn't have the funds, didn't want to make the drive, or any other excuse.

Plus I don't like you, your stinkin' shirts or the good-time-having-company you keep. :frown:

I want to head up on Friday night from the Santa Cruz County area...

Anyone want to caravan?

If you don't mind driving with an '80. :D

John? How about you?

What time? I had been planning to go part-way, stay with my bro and caravan with the Stockton crew, but my sister-in-law may have other ideas. :princess:

We'll probably be ready to leave Morgan Hill around 6. Earlier is worthless with traffic anyway.

Hi All, just spoke w/ a ranger today& I asked about fire/gas stove permits.Fires are not allowed in any non-campground areas, you also need a permit for gas/propane stoves. You can pick up a permit at the ranger station in Jackson rt. on hwy 88.

Thanks for the info

I hope the saturday morning caravan will be stopping a getting a few permits? I will be in that caravan.

I will need one for my Expresso Machine since it runs on a flame a little hotter than a Zippo can provide. :D

I agree about the traffic. I get off work around 3:30 so I can be ready to leave the Watsonville area around 4:30 or later. It would be nice to get up there Friday, even late. Nothing like waking up in the mountains. Let me know what you think.

If you have a CDF office or deptartment anywhere near you, just go in and get a permit, it literally takes 5 minutes or less.

We have one right in Monterey by the airport.

Hey Jeb, we are heading up fri. morning(late). We will prob. camp at blue lakes somewhere fri.night so we can have a fire & wheel in on the trail sat. am.
The whole family is going so we will go easy on the wheeling in&out the 88 side.
So if we don't see ya' on fri. we will be looking for everyone on sat.
Drink some beers& hang out at one of the river crossings.
You are welcome to caravan up w/us on fri.

Will we be on CDF Land, BLM Land or USFS land? I don't have a clue where we are going. I'm just part of the caravan.

We've got a wedding in Truckee on Saturday, if we came in on Sunday, how hard is the trail from Blue Lake to the camp site. We'll be traveling in the family vehicle (4 wheel drive, decent clearance) - could we make it in?
