2006+ tail lights - Will they fit my 2001 LC?

I want to buy a set of genuine Toyota LED tail lights from the 2006+ Land Cruiser for my 2001 Land Cruiser. Can anyone confirm whether or not they will fit?

I did a bunch of searching on this forum but couldn't find the answer.

One thread said: "1998-2002 have ~8.5" wide inner tailights at the bottom, while the 03-07 are slightly larger at the base, approx 1" wider." Sounds fishy to me

Nice find! That info does suggest that all 1998 - 2007 100s have interchangable tail lights, assuming they are selling genuine Toyota lights and not some aftermarket replica stuff.

Its OEM. I have purchased from them before.

The information below is only relevant to the Lexus LX470 models, not the Land Cruiser. The Lexus tailgate was redesigned in 2003.

All year (1998-2007) Land Cruiser tail lights will physically fit within any tailgate/body however, the connectors may vary. I have not checked on that part, mainly because I do not have an LC and dont care.

Thanks for the info. Now that I know the '06+ LED tail lights will fit my '01 I just need to find out about the wiring and connectors. Stay tuned

I've been thinking of changing out the tail lights on my 00, keep us posted if you figure out the wiring

Safety... Maybe, I installed them because they look cool ;p. That and I broke my left side out on a trail.

I bought them new. There was limited availability on the used market and I bought them for 5% over cost from toyota. I did not have to change anything else.

Thanks for posting! That is a great lookin' rig you have.

Question - are you sure those are US-spec '06+ TLC rear lights on yours? I thought the '06+ used this LED style.

He just did the inboard lights...

I didn't realize that until the last post that those were not the right outboard lights. Toyota parts counter got me again. Oh well they look better than original ones.
