Just a precaution to anyone looking or that has looked at this particular LX470. I went in this afternoon to drive it and make a deal. It shows common cosmetic wear for the age, but no rust. HOWEVER, once I sat down and had the sales manager pull the service records aside from Carfax, there was a compiled list of nearly $5k in repairs needed. The manager would NOT come down from its $17,500 price at 148k miles. Nor would he factor in ANY repair costs. He stated, "being sold as-is". Thats fine, but selling a vehicle without disclosing potential risks if repairs not taken care of is a HUGE liability.

When I drove the vehicle I instantly realized it needed a lot of repairs. It was swaying all over the road, nasty grinding from the hubs, and bumping/jolting steering rack. On the bright side, tires are nearly new. Here is a list of just a few of the items needed repaired/replaced. Trying to save the hassle and headache for the next person interested. Oh, and the GM asked, "Are you some sort of attorney?" when I mentioned Florida liability laws with selling busted down vehicles. "Yes, here's my bar card and business card. Good luck selling that pile of junk."

-Busted wheel hubs
-Driveline assembly
-Rack & pinion
-ABS not functioning
-Tie rods blown
-Right upper control arm is toast

Well done. These guys are blood sucking mosquitoes.

I'm rarely arrogant. But the stereotypical sales tactics were being played out in front of me. Also, I have copies of the shop-printed work that needs to be addressed. Going to scan and have them uploaded for folks to see. I would hate to buy a truck thinking I'm being taken care of by a Lexus dealer and only find out later on that I was duped.

I talked to these folks over the phone last weekend. I believe that one had 5-6 owners, "minor" accident. Didn't sound too swift on the surface.

You’re correct. Bumpers weren’t original. Paint shade was off. I went with the intention of buying a trail rig. Saw the accident history, but knowing I would eventually add aftermarket bumpers I wasn’t too worried as long as it didn’t have frame damage.
