Hey folks. I have a 2006 LX and I just completed the timing belt job at 267k miles. New belts, tensioners, idle pulleys, water pump, fan bracket, fan clutch, the works. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was gonna be! While I had it all out I went ahead and did new plugs and coils - I've been having an intermittent rough idle and it was time.

Anyway, here's how it sounds now:

Does this sound normal to y'all? To me it's a little loud...kind of like injector noise but louder. It was *not* this noisy when the engine was cold; I only noticed after I took it around the block. (It idles and runs perfectly as best I can tell.) I thought perhaps my new plugs were loose so I checked and they're all at 18ft/lb. Not sure what else to try...or if it's even an issue at all!

When compared to how my 2007 sounds, I can't hear anything out of whack. The mechanical injector noise sounds normal to me.

Where did you get the parts for the job?

This could be a case of... you are now paying extra attention to the sounds after you touched all that stuff... looking for something that's off. But in fact, nothing is off at all and your ears are just focusing on more individualized sounds.

Thank you! I was hoping that's what it is...just sensitive to it and I haven't been under the hood in a while. Parts were all OE from toyotapartsdeal.com or PartSouq other than the Aisin fan bracket and clutch.

sounds like it should, to me. as long as it runs, no check engine codes, and goes through the RPM range without any misses or hesitations, then i think you were successful
