2005 LX 470 - Largest tires on all factory rig?

I tried to search the forums but couldn’t find a specific answer.

Heading out for a 5k mile cross-country trek with trials to be done out West and on the way. Would like to know the largest tire I have that will maintain the smooth highway ride the LX offers yet will afford for stability off-road. Also plan to replace the factory rims and would like to know approach to the offset that may push the tire out of the wheel-well a bit to make it look a bit more aggressive.

Generally speaking, 33" is about as big as people go without getting into having to do mods to make stuff fit. On 16" wheels that would be 285/75/16.

You can use Bora 30mm spacers to push the wheels out a bit, or get wheels with +30mm offset both will yield the same result. Tires 275/70/18 will fit nicely in the LX, shouldn't rub when in High mode offroading

Planning on the rims being Vision Valors which have a +18 offset and the tires would be Nitto Ridge Grapplers for total diameter of 33.19” with 275/70/18. Sound reasonable or what would you think about going a little wider to a 285 while taking into consideration I’d like to keep a smooth highway ride?

Stay 275/70/18 more than plenty wide and great size for your LX.

so if you are on 18s, 275/70/18 which are in abundant use on stock 100s.
