I have been reading here awhile, Just picked up my first Land Cruiser in January ( It's my first Please Be Gentle! )

It is replacing my 1984 Cressida Wagon that had a Supercharged 1UZ-FE in it for towing and touring.

Here it is in the Car yard:

Looks great, congrats on the upgrade! Is Sahara a trim level down under?

Awesome!! Welcome..

Yeah, Leather, Center console Fridge, trip meter and sunroof
Interesting. We in the US only get one trim level which is loaded, but no fridge, that I am aware of (that's for the 200's...

Nice! Where did you get the steering wheel buttons? I'm getting ready to swap out the stock head unit on my '98 LX470 with a CarPlay compatible Panasonic and need some good steering wheel buttons.

Out of curiosity, how does installing Torsen differentials affect the ATRAC system?

Out of curiosity, how does installing Torsen differentials affect the ATRAC system?
Hopefully it compliments it well... that is my plan anyway!

The rear torsen has a preload pack so even without ATRAC having a rear wheel in the air should not matter, the front also has a preload pack but I think I am going to remove it before installation as I'm concerned it could make it under-steer, Unfortunately not many people to ask about a front torsen in an IFS cruiser experiences!

I'm not looking to do any hard core rock crawling so lockers would be a bit pointless, the Torsen diffs with ATRAC on the other hand will give me better traction all the time without having to lock diffs and run wires and airlines and for that tiny percentage of the time a locker would be better I'm spending the saved money on a winch, so more reliable diffs with over all more capability to go places / get unstuck with the winch and I think i'll still come out cheaper than twin locked!

How would the Torsen diff improve traction?

BTW, I'll be purchasing that same winch plate. And then a Smittybuilt winch to hide behind the bumper. I don't do enough serious wheeling to warrant a winch bumper.

So it appears this is works similar to a locker?

Not quite as it never 100% locks, it's a math problem...

As it works on multiplication if you multiply by zero (no traction - such as wheel in the air) you have a problem of no torque to multiply to the other wheel, so this is where they add a small clutch pack (shown below as Side gear spacer, disc spring x2 and another side gear spacer) to the center of *some* Torsen diffs to there is always some resistance to multiply against with the downside increasing its "sensitivity" to wheel speed differences, not much of an issue for the rear but in the front this could be felt as under-steer, ATRAC would also apply the brake if a wheel was spinning having the same effect as an internal clutch pack but only within the ATRAC activation window. This is why I'll remove the preload pack from my front TrueTrac but leave it in the rear.

Obviously if you're frequently having a wheel in the air rock crawling this extra preload pack / ATRAC reliance is not going to be optimal compared the a solid diff lock.

Part way though the 06' Front install, junk Chinese headlights retrofitted with Morimoto HID projectors

Got sent the wrong shroud for the projector so will be pulling it apart again to swap that over, also waiting on lower fill panels and reinforcement from the UAE to ship over and local sourced grill has so far taken over a week to travel a 30 minute drive and is still not here!

Tackled front and rear shockers today!

Fronts are 30min's each... easy!

...the rears what a nightmare! ended up putting some access holes in the rear floor, there was no way the Right hand side rear was coming out without damaging myself or something else!

Put the holes in and hard job becomes easy! should of just done it straight away!

Have not hit any dirt roads yet, but Ohhh my!!! soooo much better on road, no more steering wheel death grip required over bridge expansion joints... HIGHLY recommended

I feel like a Torsen Diff would fight with ATRAC, is there something im missing?
