I need some help.....does anyone know of a fix for this?

The interior is coming off in several places....AC vents, by the shifter, door handles. It looks like sh*t.

Any ideas would be very helpful......local ones, even better (Memphis, TN).

Thanks guys!!!

Don't have pics now, but I'll try to add some.

Peel it off. It didn't come from Japan with faux wood. It was a port/dealer installed add on to give them more profit.

Lots of Land Cruiser owners here on MUD will tell you the same. Lexus has real wood trim from factory....

Do a MUD Search for it. Several threads about removing it, including how to. Hint: hair dryer and fingers. Even easier on a really hot day.

I used edge of credit card to push off the glue and used gasoline to clean residue.

I am so hopeful my fake wood will come off easier when it gets warmer.

I hate that crap, mostly because mine looks terrible, if it looked great I'd probably keep it.

If you need to replace it your better off buying a new "kit" online from eBay I think.

But your going to have fun removing everything and installing the new stuff. Unless you find a perfect match. I'm to OCD for that. Lol...

Wow yours looks SO much better w/out...

Good call man!

Yours will too once you peel it off. Hair dryer or heat gun on LOW setting will soften the glue up enough to remove it. Just don't rush it, low heat, keep it moving and gently peel. Fishing line can also help you cut the glue backing.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Mine has half-ass peeled off....well the plastic coating on the top! I need to test it out with your suggestions!

Use plastic scrapers, softer the better to prevent scratches. Once you get a corner lifted enough to get your fingers under it, you can slowly lift it using the hairdryer to heat up the glue to soften it up. Take your time, it will come off.

I like that once you get rid of the faux wood, the vent labels for open/closed are present.

I've used Windex (with ammonia) to remove window tint adhesive. Turns it gooey which scraped right off.

Plastic putty knife and a heat gun on low heat. + a lot of patience. Taking your time will result in a clean job and you will never know it was there.
