Was driving my 2001 LX 470 the other day with AC on when suddenly the two air vents on the center console stopped putting out air completely. All other vents continued to operate (including the outer driver and passenger vents). I did hear...I think...a slight "pop" somewhere near the glove box as it happened. I suspect it's probably a bad mode actuator, but can't seem to track down any information on where this actuator might be for these vents on the J100 specifically. Later Lexus models do have a mode actuator in the glove box, but I was hoping for any tips to narrow the search space before I go ripping things apart :)

Anyone dealt with this before? Any pointers or directional resources I could reference to try to track down what might be the culprit?

Much obliged!

There are AC vents on the center console?

I'm likely abusing terminology. :) The "center dash". Vents flanking the stereo/navigation system on left and right.
